Rock Bar Gravity is a hard rock bar in Nishi-Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. Opened on 22 February 2007, it is one of the small rock-oriented bars in the Shinjuku area and is located on the second floor of the Seiwa Building.
The bar has an intimate setting with blue-purple lighting, a small stage area and a strong focus on hard rock and 1980s rock. A drum kit, keyboards and several dozen guitars are available for guests and musicians, making the venue unusually jam-friendly for a small Tokyo rock bar.
Guitars are central to the bar’s identity. In addition to the instruments ready for use, Rock Bar Gravity also displays guitars in cases alongside photographs and autographs, apparently connected to well-known Japanese guitarists. The combination of bar counter, small stage, guest jam setup and extensive guitar collection gives Rock Bar Gravity a distinctive place in Tokyo’s hard rock nightlife.
