96 and 98 St. Mark’s Place in Manhattan’s East Village are iconic addresses for rock fans, immortalised on the cover of Led Zeppelin’s 1975 album Physical Graffiti. The twin tenement buildings still draw visitors from around the world, with the aptly named tea shop Physical Graffitea located on the ground floor. Today the site houses bars, restaurants, and shops, but remains one of New York City’s most recognisable rock landmarks.
