An iconic 500-capacity venue on the Sunset Strip (9009 W Sunset Blvd), The Roxy has hosted touring and breakout acts since opening in 1973. Run by Lou Adler and Nic Adler, it’s a mostly standing, all-ages room with a compact stage, balcony rail and bar, and a packed year-round calendar. Practical details such as parking, policies, and show listings are handled via the official website and Goldenvoice pages.
Despite its small size, The Roxy has welcomed an impressive list of legendary artists over the years — including Neil Young, System of a Down, Guns N’ Roses, Ramones, Mötley Crüe, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Faith No More, Motörhead, and Slayer. Korn filmed the performance scenes for their “Narcissistic Cannibal” video here on September 27, 2011. The Ramones played their first California concert at the Roxy on August 11, 1976, and the concert scenes for their 1979 movie Rock ’n’ Roll High School were also shot here in December 1978.
