Peter Steele from Type O Negative, whose real name was Peter Thomas Ratajczyk, was born in Red Hook, a neighbourhood in western Brooklyn, New York City, but lived most of his life in Midwood, in the basement of the same building where he had grown up with his parents and five older sisters. The house was sold by his family for $540,000 on 20 August 2008. Please note that the building is private and trespassing is not allowed.
