Paul Stanley of Kiss, born Stanley Bert Eisen on January 20, 1952, in New York City, grew up in a working-class Jewish family. He was born in Queens but grew up in the Inwood neighbourhood, located at the northern end of Manhattan. Paul Stanley lived in this neighbourhood until he was eight years old. Then his family moved to the Bronx, where he lived until he was 18. Paul wrote in his autobiography: “A few Jewish immigrant families, like ours, lived in the part of upper Manhattan where I lived, but it was predominantly Irish.”
