ACES HIGH SALOON

Aces High Saloon is a bar, restaurant and live music venue in Salt Lake City, Utah. Located on South State Street, it is built around heavy metal, punk rock, outlaw country, food and drinks.

The venue was created by Jeremy Spence and Katie “Gunner Bandura” Maloney, who signed the lease in January 2020 and officially launched Aces High Saloon in September that year. After receiving its liquor licence in January 2021, it developed into a small venue-bar hybrid for Salt Lake City’s underground music community.

The name gives an obvious nod to Iron Maiden, and the connection is reinforced inside the bar by several Iron Maiden posters and the sale of Trooper beer. The heavy metal decoration also includes show flyers, band posters and a wall mural based on Judas Priest’s “Screaming for Vengeance”.

Aces High Saloon has black booths, a pool table, several pinball machines and an outdoor patio. The venue hosts regular live shows, with metal, punk, hardcore, rock and outlaw country all appearing in its calendar.

The food and drink side is also a major part of the place. Aces High Saloon has a full bar and a menu with omni, vegetarian and vegan options, with most menu items available as vegan versions. This gives the venue a distinctive mix of heavy music, bar food, drinks, arcade-style games and underground live shows.
