Alice Bar is an 1980s rock’n’roll-themed late-night bar in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Located down a laneway off Elizabeth Street in the Brisbane CBD, it is a basement bar built around bourbon, cocktails, rock music and after-hours drinking.
The bar is open from 5 pm to 3 am seven days a week. The setting is dimly lit, with red lighting, booths, old televisions above the bar, a pool table and a jukebox loaded with classic rock and 1980s hard rock.
Bourbon is a major part of the bar. Alice has a large backbar with more than 150 varieties, alongside cocktails, beer, wine and other spirits. The drinks side is more polished than the basement-rock setting might suggest, but the atmosphere is still centred on loud music, low light and late nights rather than formal cocktail-bar behaviour.
The music profile draws heavily on 1980s rock and hard rock, with AC/DC, Led Zeppelin and Alice Cooper among the artists associated with the jukebox and atmosphere. Not to mention all the Alice Cooper posters around the bar. The name gained an extra piece of rock history in April 2024, when Alice Cooper played a surprise midnight set at the bar after his Australian tour date in Brisbane.
