Amananth’s Place is a long-running rock and metal pub in Vienna, Austria. Located on Liechtensteinstraße in the Alsergrund district, it opened in 2004 and celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2024.
The pub describes itself as a Rock Esoterik Pub, combining a traditional rock-bar setting with darker, esoteric and occult-leaning imagery. The music covers a broad range of guitar-driven styles, from classic rock and hard rock to heavy metal, thrash metal, death metal and black metal, with punk, gothic and industrial also appearing in the rotation.
The interior is divided between the main bar and a basement area known as the Partykeller. The rooms have a dark and unconventional look, with wood, subdued lighting, rock and metal decoration, and esoteric details contributing to the atmosphere.
Amananth’s Place is centred on the pub itself, with drinks, music, DJs, themed nights and private parties forming the core of the venue. The basement gives the bar extra space for gatherings and events, while dart and Wuzzler add to the informal pub character.
After more than two decades, Amananth’s Place remains part of Vienna’s rock and metal nightlife. Its mix of heavy music, esoteric decoration, basement parties and small independent pub atmosphere gives it a distinct identity among the city’s alternative bars.
