Bar Koutetsuya is a metal bar in Chōfu, Tokyo, Japan. Located in Nishi-Tsutsujigaoka, close to Tsutsujigaoka Station, it is a small local bar with a strong underground metal identity. The Japanese name is 鋼鉄屋, read as Koutetsuya, which can be understood as “steel shop” or “metal shop”.
The bar has a clear focus on underground metal, including death metal, black metal and other extreme styles, as well as domestic and international independent releases. Its profile is more specialised than many general rock bars, with a strong connection to Japan’s extreme metal underground.
