Corporation, often called Corp by locals, is an independent live music venue and alternative nightclub in Sheffield, England. Located on Milton Street in the city centre, it has been one of Sheffield’s main rock and metal institutions since 1997.
The venue combines live concerts with regular club nights, using several rooms across two floors. Its spaces have capacities of around 180, 300 and 700 people, allowing Corporation to host both smaller underground shows and larger touring acts.
The programme covers rock, metal, alternative, punk, hardcore, indie, pop-punk and other non-mainstream styles. The long-running Friday club night Drop has been especially associated with Sheffield’s rock and metal crowd, and has been recognised by Metal Hammer as one of the UK’s leading alternative club nights.
Corporation has hosted a wide range of rock and metal artists, including Anthrax, Black Stone Cherry, Alexisonfire, Architects, Cannibal Corpse, Parkway Drive, Raven, Girlschool, and Napalm Death. With its mix of touring bands, local shows, multi-room club nights and long-running alternative identity, Corporation remains one of Sheffield’s key venues for heavy and alternative music.
