Epic Fest is an annual power metal festival held at Gimle in Roskilde, Denmark. Established in 2023, the festival focuses primarily on power, melodic and fantasy metal, bringing together established international bands with newer acts from the European scene.
The first edition took place in 2023 and immediately established a strong profile within the genre, with Blind Guardian, Rhapsody of Fire, Dream Evil, Dragonland and Iron Fire among the performers. Later editions have continued in the same direction, with bands such as Sonata Arctica, Firewind, Stratovarius and Pagan’s Mind appearing at the festival.
Epic Fest is closely associated with Gimle, whose main concert hall provides the central stage for the event. The relatively compact setting gives the festival a more intimate character than larger open-air metal festivals, while still attracting internationally established bands that would normally headline considerably larger venues.
In only a few years, Epic Fest has developed into a notable meeting point for fans of power and melodic metal in Scandinavia. Its focused booking profile and concentration on a genre that is rarely given an entire festival of its own have given the event a clear identity within the Danish metal calendar.
