Galleri Fjalar is an art gallery in Bergen, Norway, run by Kristian Eivind Espedal, better known as Gaahl, together with Robin Jakobsen. The gallery is located on Bryggen, the historic Hanseatic wharf in central Bergen, and has been active since May 2018.
The gallery presents Gaahl’s own visual art alongside changing exhibitions by other Norwegian and international artists. The works on display are mainly paintings, often with a dark, expressive and atmospheric character, but the exhibitions vary throughout the year.
Gaahl is best known in music through his work with Gorgoroth, Gaahls Wyrd, Trelldom and other projects connected to Norwegian black metal. Galleri Fjalar, however, is centred on visual art rather than music history. The gallery gives his artistic work a permanent physical setting in Bergen, while also functioning as a small exhibition space for other artists.
