Le Klub is an underground live music venue and nightclub at 14 Rue Saint-Denis in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, France, close to Châtelet. Operating under the Le Klub name since 2006, it presents concerts, club nights and other events across two basement levels known as K-1 and K-2. The programme covers a wide range of alternative music, with metal, punk, hardcore, gothic and experimental music particularly well represented alongside electronic and independent styles. The venue has a combined capacity of around 300 people.

The cellars beneath 14 Rue Saint-Denis have a long history of nightlife. During the 1950s they were used by the fruit business Pigma Fruits before being converted into a jazz club called Hellzapoppin. In 1983, the premises became Limelight, with two dance floors replacing the earlier jazz-oriented layout. Limelight developed into a notable gay nightlife venue before the club later operated under the name Le Club during the 1990s.

In 2006, Alex Drosne, later associated with Paris metal bar Black Dog and the Fall of Summer festival, took over the premises and developed them into Le Klub. Live concerts became a regular part of the programme from 2007, with a strong focus on independent and alternative culture. Early events included appearances and club nights connected with artists such as Jello Biafra, Sexy Sushi and Aqua Nebula Oscillator.

A major renovation in 2015 reorganised the two underground floors and introduced much of the industrial appearance seen today. Exposed stone and brick, graffiti, narrow corridors and compact performance rooms give Le Klub a distinctly underground atmosphere. Both K-1 and K-2 can be used for concerts and club nights, allowing different events or styles to take place within the same building.

Metal has become one of the most prominent parts of Le Klub’s programme, particularly black metal, death metal, doom, thrash and experimental metal. The venue is regularly used by independent promoters bringing underground European and international bands to Paris, alongside emerging French acts. Recent programmes have included Ondfødt and Hellebore, Anal Vomit and Hedon, as well as bands such as Pessimist, Satan’s Fall, Undercroft, Mannveira and Deathchant. Hardcore and punk are also frequent parts of the calendar.

The programme can move from extreme metal and hardcore to post-punk, darkwave, techno or experimental rock within the same week, reflecting the venue’s broad underground identity. Its central location and compact basement setting have made Le Klub a regular stop for smaller international touring bands and an established part of Paris’ alternative live music scene.
