Mehimoloth’s grave is at Havstein kirkegård in Trondheim, Norway. Mehimoloth, whose real name was Steingrim Torson Brissach, was born on 27 December 1983 and died on 30 April 2009 at the age of 25. He is best known as the vocalist of Celestial Bloodshed, but was also active in bands such as Kaosritual, Grenjar, Selvhat, Slagmaur and One Tail, One Head.
The grave is notable as the burial place of one of the key figures associated with the Nidrosian black metal scene in Trondheim. Through Celestial Bloodshed, Mehimoloth became closely linked to a raw and violent strain of Norwegian black metal, especially through releases such as the EP “Celestial Bloodshed” and the album «Cursed, Scarred and Forever Possessed». His death in 2009 cut short a career that had already made him an important underground figure within modern Norwegian black metal.
He died from a gunshot wound in Trondheim, and contemporary reporting described the death as the result of a shooting later said to have been accidental. He was commemorated in Trondheim shortly after his death, and burial records place his funeral at Ilen church in May 2009 and his burial at Havstein cemetery in June 2009. The gravestone is marked with the phrase “Per Aspera Ad Astra”, and, as you noted, it also features two scythes at the top, giving the memorial a form that stands out clearly within a metal context.
