No Remorse Records is a heavy metal record shop and independent label at Akadimias 81 in central Athens, Greece. Founded by Chris Papadatos in 1998, it began as a specialist store at a time when much of the Greek record market focused on more established mainstream artists. No Remorse instead built its identity around hard-to-find heavy metal, rare LPs and CDs, limited editions and underground releases.
The shop covers most branches of metal, including traditional heavy metal, power, epic, doom, thrash, death, black metal and NWOBHM, alongside hard rock. Its stock includes new and second-hand vinyl, CDs, cassettes, reissues, shirts and other merchandise, with more than 10,000 titles listed in stock. Rare and out-of-print material has remained an important part of the business since its early years.
The success of the shop eventually led Papadatos to establish No Remorse Records as a label. Its early catalogue focused strongly on archival releases and expanded reissues of overlooked heavy metal records, often adding previously unreleased recordings and bonus material. Releases by Omen, Randy, Lordian Guard and Axehammer helped establish the label’s reputation, while the catalogue later expanded to include bands such as Heavy Load, Eternal Champion, Riot City, Heir Apparent, Virgin Steele, Q5, Doomsword, Sortilège, ADX, Coroner and Savage Grace.
Traditional, epic and underground heavy metal remain particularly central to the label’s identity. No Remorse has played an important role in bringing long-unavailable recordings back into circulation, while also working with veteran bands on new material and signing younger artists. Swedish heavy metal band Heavy Load began working with the label after meeting Papadatos in Athens in 2016, eventually releasing new material through No Remorse decades after their original run.
The physical shop remains active alongside the label and online store, keeping the original retail side of the business closely connected to its international release catalogue. More than twenty-five years after opening, No Remorse Records has grown from a specialist Athens record shop into one of Greece’s most established independent heavy metal labels.
