Rockstadt is a rock and metal club and live music venue in Brașov, Romania. It is one of the city’s most important heavy music venues, with a programme that includes Romanian and international rock, metal, hardcore, alternative and underground acts.
The venue is large for a club of this type, with a spacious main floor, a large stage and a gallery level overlooking the performance area. On ordinary weekdays, the floor is filled with tables and chairs, while for concerts the space is cleared to make room for the audience. Rockstadt also has an outdoor backyard area, adding to its role as both a bar and a live venue.
Rockstadt is heavily decorated, both inside and outside. Its most striking exterior feature is a giant guitar mounted on the wall, visible from a distance before reaching the venue. The same wall is made up of metal plates, each carrying the logo of a different band, including Iron Maiden, Metallica, Motörhead, Slayer, Kreator, System of a Down, Hamferð, Paradise Lost, Pantera, Pink Floyd, Manowar, Behemoth, Trooper, Led Zeppelin and many others.
The Rockstadt name is also closely connected to Rockstadt Extreme Fest, the major Romanian rock and metal festival established in 2013. The club functions as a year-round venue in Brașov, while the festival has become the larger outdoor expression of the same heavy music environment.
