Sally Longs Rock Bar is a rock bar in Galway, Ireland. Opened in 1988 on Abbeygate Street, it is one of the city’s longest-running specialist bars for rock and alternative music and has a well-established place in Galway nightlife. The bar is family-run and is closely associated with the city’s biker, metal, punk and alternative scene.
Its musical profile centres on rock, metal, punk and alternative music, and live gigs have long formed part of its identity. Sally Longs is also known for the large Rock Legends mural on its exterior, which has made the bar a recognisable landmark in Galway city centre.
Inside, the bar continues the same rock-and-biker identity, with a real Harley Davidson on display and a pool table adding to its informal pub atmosphere. Together with its long history, live music and distinctive exterior, Sally Longs remains one of Galway’s clearest rock-bar institutions.
