THE DRACULA PARROT BAR

The Dracula Parrot Bar is an alternative rock bar and small live music venue in Folkestone, Kent, England. Located close to Folkestone Central railway station and the town centre, it is part of the town’s independent nightlife rather than a mainstream pub setting.

The bar is run by alternative fans and is built around rock, gothic, punk, metal and other non-mainstream culture. Its name refers to the Dracula parrot, also known as Pesquet’s parrot, a black-and-red parrot from New Guinea with a naturally gothic appearance. That dark visual association fits the bar’s alternative identity and gives it a more distinctive name than a standard rock pub.

The Dracula Parrot Bar functions as both a drinking bar and a small event space. Its programme includes live bands, rock and alternative nights, local music events and underground acts, giving Folkestone a small coastal venue for darker and guitar-driven subcultures.
