Warpigs Brewpub is a heavy metal-themed brewery, bar and restaurant at Flæsketorvet 25–37 in Copenhagen’s Meatpacking District, Kødbyen. Opened on 10 April 2015, it was created as a collaboration between Danish craft brewery Mikkeller, founded by Mikkel Borg Bjergsø, and American brewery 3 Floyds Brewing from Munster, Indiana. The name comes from Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs”, reflecting the strong connection both breweries have maintained with heavy metal culture.
Warpigs occupies a former slaughterhouse and retains much of the building’s industrial character. The large open interior has white tiled walls, exposed ventilation pipes, stainless-steel brewing equipment and long communal wooden tables. The brewery itself is integrated into the bar and restaurant space, with much of the equipment visible from the seating areas.
The bar has 23 taps carrying a constantly changing selection of beer brewed on site, including IPAs, stouts, lagers and experimental varieties. The brewing facilities have an annual production capacity of around 250,000 litres. Food follows an American barbecue concept, with brisket, pork ribs, pulled pork and other Texas-style dishes prepared in a large smoker. Outdoor seating is also available facing Flæsketorvet.
Heavy metal runs throughout the identity of Warpigs, from the Black Sabbath-inspired name and soundtrack to concerts, DJ nights and other events connected with Copenhagen’s underground scene. Bands that have performed there include 1000mods, Steel Inferno and Plaguemace.
In May 2025, Warpigs marked its tenth anniversary with a four-day celebration organised in cooperation with Copenhell. The festival included performances by Danish metal and hardcore bands such as Undergang, Split, Speedslut and Users, alongside metal karaoke, wrestling and other activities.
