METAL MASTER BREWING TOKYO

Metal Master Brewing Tokyo is a heavy metal bar specialising in craft beer, located on the second floor of the Fonte Roppongi building at 9-6-26 Akasaka in Tokyo, Japan. The bar opened in June 2025 and is operated by Shinji, who is also involved with Metal Justice Tokyo, another metal bar in the nearby Roppongi district. The two establishments share staff, organise metal-related events and maintain close connections with the Japanese Metallica fan community.

The relatively small bar combines a selection of craft beers with heavy metal music, concert videos and memorabilia. Metallica is particularly prominent, with a band flag displayed in the window and a collection of Metallica drinking glasses featuring artwork from different periods of the band’s career. Music videos and concert recordings are regularly shown inside, and the owner is known for his extensive knowledge of metal and his travels to concerts and festivals around the world. Unlike a conventional brewery taproom, Metal Master Brewing functions primarily as a metal bar.

The business also develops its own craft beers, including collaborations with metal bands. In 2025, it worked with Japanese metalcore band Fathomless Skywalker to create “Fathomless Voyage IPA”, an American-style India pale ale containing mint and pink pepper, inspired by the band’s song “Pirates of the Fathomless Sea”. Another release is “Hakai IPA”, associated with German thrash metal band Destruction. Alongside its own beers, the bar stocks imported speciality beers, including Iron Maiden’s Trooper range. Metal Master Brewing also hosts occasional metal-themed gatherings and DJ events, maintaining a close relationship with Metal Justice Tokyo and the local metal community.
