LABEERYNT

Labeerynt is a craft beer pub at Szeroka 97 in the historic centre of Gdańsk, Poland. Its name is a deliberate combination of “labyrinth” and “beer”, reflecting both the pub’s main speciality and its location in a series of basement rooms below street level.

The pub is reached by descending from Szeroka Street into a low-lit cellar with exposed brick walls, wooden furniture and several connected rooms and corners. Chalkboards behind the bar display the changing beer selection, while shelves and refrigerators contain additional bottled and canned varieties. Board games are also available, and there are a few outdoor tables at street level.

Beer is the main focus, with around fifteen taps carrying a frequently changing selection from Polish and international breweries. The range can include IPA, stout, porter, sour beer, wheat beer, pilsner and stronger Belgian styles, with additional bottles and cans stored in the refrigerators. Polish craft breweries are particularly well represented.

The music ranges from classic rock to heavy metal, including black metal and doom metal. The back rooms have a stronger metal character, with darker decoration and music that can include bands such as Mayhem alongside more obscure underground acts.

Labeerynt is also popular with metal fans during Mystic Festival, when Gdańsk fills with visitors attending the annual metal event. Its underground cellar setting, extensive craft beer selection and rock and metal music give the pub a distinctive character in the centre of the city.
