Apollon Platebar Tønsberg is a combined record shop, craft beer bar and small event venue at Rådhusgaten 4 in central Tønsberg, Norway. Opened on 25 June 2021, it is a sister operation to Apollon in Bergen, a record shop established in 1976 that expanded its concept with a bar in 2012. The Tønsberg branch was built around the same combination of physical music, beer and music-related events.

The record section covers a broad range of genres, with hard rock and heavy metal well represented. The selection includes established bands such as Iron Maiden alongside Norwegian and international extreme metal, stoner, doom and underground releases. Vinyl forms the main part of the stock, supplemented by CDs, cassettes and books, with additional titles available through Apollon’s wider catalogue.

Craft beer is equally central to the concept. When the Tønsberg location opened, it had 26 draught lines and partnerships with several Norwegian independent breweries, allowing the selection to rotate rather than being tied to a single large supplier. Bottled and canned beer supplement the draught range, while the bar and record shop occupy the same space.

Apollon also hosts concerts, signing sessions, quizzes, listening events and other music-related gatherings. In May 2024, local band Seigmen celebrated the release of “Resonans” with a sold-out event featuring a signing session, Q&A and quiz. Smaller live performances and artist appearances have also become a regular part of the programme.
