Rockz is a rock bar in Friedrichshain, Berlin, Germany. Located in the busy nightlife area around Simon-Dach-Straße, it is a neighbourhood bar built around rock music, beer, pool, darts and a relaxed late-night atmosphere.
The interior is heavily decorated and gives the bar much of its character. The ceiling is covered with real guitars fixed above the room, mostly electric guitars but also some acoustic instruments, while the walls are filled with records, sleeves, posters and assorted rock-bar objects. Other details include an old jukebox, lizard heads protruding from the wall and a traffic light where the lights carry the Rockz logo.
The outside wall adds to the bar’s old-fashioned and slightly humorous identity, with painted advertising-style text for “Flipper”, “Dart” and “Color-TV”. With its guitar-covered ceiling, dense wall décor and playful rock-bar details, Rockz has a more distinctive visual character than a standard neighbourhood pub.
