HALL OF FAME

Making a list of the most famous and must-visit metal spots is not an easy task. There are so many cool places in the world to visit. These are some of the very best, and places any metalhead should at least try to visit once in a lifetime.

  1. RAINBOW BAR AND GRILL
    West Hollywood, USA
Rainbow Bar and Grill is one of the most famous rock bars and restaurants in the world, with a history stretching all the way back to 1972. Pretty much every famous rock star has visited this place, and some of its regulars have included Lemmy, Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp. Lemmy even had his own chair at the bar, and today there is a statue of the legend outside the Rainbow. Several music videos have also been filmed there, by famous bands such as Guns N’ Roses and Motörhead.
  2. THE CART & HORSES
    London, England
The Cart & Horses is the pub where Iron Maiden started their career back in 1976. Back then, Iron Maiden were just starting out, and the small stage at The Cart was used for several of their early gigs. The pub cares for its history and heritage, making sure there is plenty of memorabilia on display. The Cart & Horses is a must-visit for all Iron Maiden fans.
  3. CLIFF BURTON MUSEUM
    Lagan, Sweden
The Cliff Burton Museum near Ljungby, Sweden, is a fan-founded tribute to the legendary Metallica bassist, who died in a tour bus accident in Dörarp on September 27, 1986. Opened in May 2022, the small museum serves as a guardian of Cliff’s legacy. The adjacent Memorial Stone, placed by the local community in 2006, marks the exact site where Burton’s bus crashed. Inside the museum, visitors will find memorabilia such as posters, original album covers, tickets, signed items and personal accounts from the accident’s first responders. The museum even features the original drum set used during the Master of Puppets tour in 1986. Its layout is built around the story of Cliff Burton — from his childhood to the day he died in Sweden at just 24 years old.
  4. DUFF’S
    New York, USA
Duff’s Brooklyn is a famous New York dive bar, and stepping inside is like walking into a museum — a museum of pure metal. The owner, Duff himself, is a huge collector of all things metal, so he has made sure every inch of the bar is covered with something cool. With a history dating back to 1999, the dive bar has been a regular stop for touring artists performing in New York. Regular visitors included Type O Negative, who were from Brooklyn. Duff’s is a must-visit for all metalheads visiting New York.
  5. ROCK N ROLL RIBS
    Coral Springs, USA
Rock N Roll Ribs serves good food for everyone who loves tasty ribs. The restaurant is also a metal museum, filled with all kinds of Iron Maiden stuff. Of course it is, since it is owned by Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain. Here you can see stage props from earlier tours and gold records. The bar also hosts different kinds of events in a tent outside in the parking lot from time to time.
  6. OLD NO. 6 MOTÖRHEAD MUSEUM
    Stoke-on-Trent, England
Old No. 6 is a Lemmy and Motörhead visitor centre, bar and mini museum in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, England. It opened on 1 May 2026 in Lemmy’s home town and was created for fans visiting the nearby Lemmy statue and the wider Burslem area. The venue includes Motörhead memorabilia and artwork, together with Lemmy’s Lounge, a bar serving official Motörhead beer and Lemmy-themed drinks. Needless to say, if you are a Motörhead fan and want to pay a visit to the legendary Lemmy Kilmister, Burslem is the town to visit.
  7. BLACK SABBATH BRIDGE BENCH
    Birmingham, England
There is something very beautiful about a city like Birmingham having such a great tribute to a band like Black Sabbath, who played such an important part in heavy metal history. Birmingham is proud to celebrate the world’s first heavy metal band, and one of the nicest tributes is the bench on the bridge in the city centre. A bench in itself might not sound that interesting, but all members of the classic line-up are placed on the bench, and fans can sit next to the legends.
  8. NESEBLOD RECORDS
    Oslo, Norway
Neseblod Records is a second-hand metal store and basically a museum of Norwegian black metal. The location is the same as the legendary record store Helvete, which was owned by Euronymous from the black metal band Mayhem in the early 90s. The most popular attraction inside the store is the basement, where the famous black metal graffiti from the early 90s is still intact. Neseblod Records is a must-visit for any black metal fan, and make sure you leave some money behind.
  9. METAL JUSTICE TOKYO
    Tokyo, Japan
Metal Justice is a small pub on the fourth floor of a building in Tokyo, and primarily a Metallica-dedicated pub. It has official status within the Metallica fan club as Tokyo’s Metallica pub. Metal Justice also offers five varieties of exclusive Metallica whiskey. The owner is perhaps the friendliest and most talkative pub owner ever. Every time someone new comes in, he runs over to give them a warm welcome. Overall, it has a great atmosphere and is a must-visit if you are a Metallica fan.
  10. ROCK IN
    Oslo, Norway
Rock In has been Oslo and Norway’s number one meeting place for metalheads all the way since 2000. Back then, it was started by drummer Willy Bendiksen and his wife. Since then, the pub has had several owners and is now at its fourth location. In many ways, Rock In is just a metal pub, and there are hundreds of metal pubs around the globe. But Rock In stands out because of its resistance and its ability to survive, even when things look very dark. All because of the community and metal fans who simply would not let it go. Today, Rock In is more than just a bar. It also has a stage for gigs and a second floor for other events.
