Music Fear Satan is an independent record shop and label in Paris, France. Established as a mail-order business in 2004, it opened a physical shop at 4 bis rue Richard-Lenoir in the 11th arrondissement in 2010.
The shop specialises in underground rock and heavy music, with a selection covering punk, hardcore, post-punk, noise rock, psychedelic rock, sludge, doom, black metal and other experimental and extreme styles. Vinyl makes up a large part of the stock, alongside CDs, with both new releases and reissues from independent labels around the world.
The catalogue ranges from punk and indie releases to considerably heavier material, including doom, sludge, hardcore and black metal. Limited editions, coloured vinyl and smaller independent pressings are well represented, making the selection particularly strong in releases that fall outside mainstream record-store catalogues.
Music Fear Satan also operates its own record label. The label has released dozens of titles spanning heavy, noisy and experimental music, extending the operation beyond retail and giving it a direct role in the underground music scene.
The physical shop is complemented by an extensive online store carrying thousands of releases. More than two decades after beginning as a mail-order operation, Music Fear Satan remains closely connected with contemporary underground punk, rock and metal in Paris.
