Reggies is a rock-oriented music complex in Chicago’s South Loop, established in 2007. The venue combines several different spaces under the same operation, including the approximately 400-capacity Rock Club, the smaller 110-capacity Music Joint and a rooftop area with seating and games.

The Rock Club is the main concert room and regularly hosts punk, hardcore, metal, alternative rock and other heavier music. The Music Joint combines a bar and grill with a smaller stage, allowing more intimate concerts and local bills to take place alongside the larger shows next door. Hip-hop and other styles also appear in the wider programme.

The complex occupies a former industrial building that once housed an automotive bumper repair business. Exposed brick and steel remain central to the appearance, while graffiti murals and other artwork give the different rooms a more individual character.

Reggies developed from owner Robby Glick’s involvement with Record Breakers, the independent record store he founded in the 1980s. The record-shop background helped shape the venue’s close connection with underground and developing bands, and Record Breakers later became part of the Reggies complex itself.

One of the most distinctive features is the Reggies Rock Bus. The operation has used several vintage buses decorated by artists to transport customers to selected concerts, festivals, sporting events and other destinations around Chicago. The buses have become closely associated with the Reggies name and extend the music-club identity beyond the building itself.

Since opening in 2007, Reggies has developed into a multi-room venue combining live music, food, a rooftop area, record-store roots and its unusual fleet of Rock Buses within the same South Loop complex.
