Club Puschkin is a live music venue and nightclub at Leipziger Straße 12 in Dresden, Germany, close to Alter Schlachthof and the Neustadt district. The venue has two indoor floors and a large outdoor area known as the Strandgarten, and is used for both concerts and club nights. Its programme covers alternative rock, electronic music, hip-hop and other styles, with metal and hardcore forming a regular part of the concert schedule.
The heavier side of the programme has included a wide range of international touring bands. Belphegor played Puschkin during the “Totenritual” tour in 2017, while other metal and hardcore acts to have appeared at the venue include Origin, Rings of Saturn, Ingested, Cytotoxin, Distant, Adept, Visions of Atlantis, Thundermother, Kissin’ Dynamite, Stahlmann, Ost+Front, Kataklysm, Vader, Blood Red Throne, Signs of the Swarm, Misþyrming, Necrowretch and Audrey Horne.
Club Puschkin has also hosted the long-running “Metal hilft Kids” benefit organised by SkullCrusher Heavy Metal Dresden e.V. Established in 2003, the event brings together metal bands to raise money for charitable causes, with editions at Puschkin featuring both local and international underground acts. Beneficiaries have included Dresden’s ambulant children’s and youth hospice service.
