HD – Die Rock & Metal Bar is a rock and metal bar and small live music venue in Dresden, Germany. Located in the Neustadt district, it sits in one of the city’s main areas for bars, nightlife and alternative culture.
The programme includes metal, punk, Oi!, hardcore, hard rock, gothic, doom, black metal and underground rock events. Local bands, touring artists and club nights form part of the venue’s activity, with listed acts including Baest, Primitive Warfare, Cockney Rejects, The Gems, Love Ghost, The Crux and The Arch.
The interior has an informal, DIY rock-bar feel. Posters are hung directly on the walls rather than framed, including Wacken Open Air, Sepultura and various concert posters, giving parts of the room a bedroom-wall style. The bar also has electronic dartboards and table football.
One distinctive detail is the furniture: several tables are made from Fritz-Kola barrels with tabletops added, fitting the rough and practical pub atmosphere.
