Liquid Rock is a rock and metal bar at Rothenburger Straße 43 in Dresden’s Neustadt district, with its entrance facing Louisenstraße. Opened in August 2025, it occupies the former Horst bar and is operated by Hungarian owner Kristóf Kovács. After taking over the premises, Kovács spent around six weeks rebuilding and redecorating the bar before opening it under the Liquid Rock name.
The Dresden bar is the second Liquid Rock. The original was opened in Budapest by Kovács’ father on 14 October 2014, and the Dresden location follows the same old-school rock and metal concept.
The interior is spread across two floors and retains some furniture and the original bar counter from Horst. The surroundings were given a much stronger rock identity, with bright red walls covered in old vinyl records, posters of rock musicians and other music imagery. Several screens show music videos, while the soundtrack covers rock, punk and heavy metal.
Beer and spirits form a substantial part of the bar. The selection includes around 40 bottled beers, several draught varieties and approximately 100 spirits, with Guinness among the regular draught options. The rock theme continues behind the bar, where the selection has included Motörhead-branded vodka and spirits served from skull-shaped bottles. Whisky, tequila and other spirits are also strongly represented.
